Surface sections¶
Commands of the surface_sections chapter of the database, 9 entries. The status words are defined once, on the compatibility matrix, which says what each rests on and what the script builder does with it. Read it before this page: broken and removed are refusals, so a row here can be telling you the emitter will not write that command for that version.
COMPUTE_SURFACE_SECTIONAL_LOADS¶

Integrates the surface section properties into per-section loads. Call it only after the relevant sections are updated and before EXPORT_SURFACE_SECTIONAL_LOADS (SRC-003 p.364).

DELETE_ALL_SURFACE_SECTIONS¶

Deletes every surface section. ITS PAGE GIVES IT NOTHING AT ALL: a signature heading with no parameter table, no sample and no prose, in the four editions read then. Read as a bare command under the rule the Scenes chapter rests on, nothing in any edition contradicting it, and its own name saying what it acts on.

Exports one surface section by index (index greater than 0), with no filename line documented (SRC-003 p.365). Added at 26.12; the 26.1 manual documents only the all-sections export, so a 26.1 script exports everything through EXPORT_ALL_SURFACE_SECTIONS and filters afterwards (SRC-725 p.364).

NEW_SURFACE_SECTION_DISTRIBUTION¶
Phase init, layout keyword_block. Manual: SRC-003 p.364.
Creates NUM_SECTIONS sections at once; the surface indices follow the SURFACES line. THE TWO OLDER EDITIONS TAKE SIX KEYWORDS AND THIS ENTRY'S DEFAULT GRAMMAR HAS SEVEN. INCLUDE_SYMMETRY reached this database from a working 26.120 SCRIPT rather than from any manual, and the first edition to document it is 26.121. So the February and May rows declare their own six-keyword grammar; copying the default one would have told a caller on those builds that a keyword no evidence places there is available (read on the pages, 2026-08-08). The manual grammar (SRC-003 p.364) aborted the original Tier 2 probe on 26.120, while a working 26.120 script additionally carries an INCLUDE_SYMMETRY keyword the manual does not list. The 2026-07-23 licensed re-probe (CMP-26120_2026-07-23_pln012) decided it: with the corrected phase (init) and the extended grammar (optional INCLUDE_SYMMETRY), the command runs and its effect is observed, so it is now verified. Phase init on empirical evidence (2026-07-21 case-reproduction run): the cut planes freeze at creation against the current geometry pose, so distributions over moving boundaries must be created before the motion runs; the working reproduction script creates them pre-solve, and the original aborting probe ran the command post-solve, which was the abort cause the re-probe fixed.
